Age-related Macular Degeneration and Complement Factor H

Organizers: Frederick Ferris and Emily Chew

Recent research by several groups showed the association of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) with complement factor H (CFH). This discovery may lead to insight into the pathogenesis of AMD and possible new strategies for both prevention and treatment of AMD, a disease of significant public importance. This Course features lead investigators presenting their data and a panel discussion of the future of this research. Experts in the field of CHF, immunology, and genetics will also contribute.
